Whatever happened to Shad Laws? Interesting thread with comments onthe samba...
I remember Shad Laws used to frequent RAMVA back in the day, but
haven't seen his postings in years. His name came up in a Samba thread about LN biral cylinders, was surprised to see it appeared he'd made a bad name for himself in a certain transaction: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/vie...asc&st art=20 It's been a long time since I'd seen him posting on here, but thought this case sounded like a pretty raw deal. |

I informed Shad back in August about Bob Hoover's passing. He said his interest in cars has broadened a bit from aircooled VWs. He's living in Paris -- yes, THAT Paris -- but I don't know who he's employed with. -- Randall |

Jan, what is Erkki saying starting at 4:41? I never met the guy, nor did I interact with him, all I remember is he used to post a lot here and elsewhere. |

Today the 2CV guild is an independent registered association with around 1200 members, and about 2000 different 2CV-based motor vehicles. You can become a member if you own, co-own, or have the right to use a 2CV based vehicle. The finnish 2CV guild is the oldest and probably the largest still operational one-brand association/car club in Finland. (Jan says: ahem, the finnish VW association has over 2500 members, and is the largest...) The guild is over 30 years old. The organizational structure of the guild is based on a 16th century regulations for trade and profesional guild organizations. The rules of the 2CV guild are likewise based on protocols from the same era, modernized and adapted to our needs. Blah blah blah... Do you REALLY want me to translate it all? Jan |

From 6:09 on, a long narration in finnish about the history of the 2CV, something I would also rather leave for Wikipedia to cover in english |
