I think speed bumps are a great idea that has been carried too far in some cases. Without them, psychos would be racing at 30 mph thru parking lots. |

Should accomplish the same purpose and no danger of scraping a low slung vehicle. Harry K |

Smooth pavement. Anyone who can't be trusted to drive safely without artificial crap in the road shouldn't be driving.

Then they'd tend to fill in, fill with water or, in northern climes, fill with ice right where you need stopping traction to be uninterrupted. Thing is, they're just plain getting out of hand. What's needed are some lawsuits filed by people with damaged cars and/or cycles/scooters that were damaged or, better yet, bounced off the road into an injury-causing crash. As soon as they things are seen as a cash liability waiting to happen they'll largely disappear or at least some standard, less odious, bump will be codified by the FHSB or DOTs. Of course if you're evil-minded you could try just driving around the things when possible - right up through someones very expensive lawn - preferably with a vehicle that'll tear up a lot of turf :-) |

You want to put a drain in each one too and connect it to a storm sewer.? |

They do have to also go very slow over the bump. |
