'94 Center Brake Light
Anyone know of a place that sells the center brake lamp socket assembly
online? I've been running on one light (the incorrect, dim one at that) for a number of years now, because I just can't bring myself to spend $120 for a piece of plastic. Has anyone been able to do anything with LEDs? Now THAT would be cool! Thanks! -- Richard Minami |

I hate that socket soooo much on my '94...
I had one of the lights burn out and took it all apart to replace the lamp. I pulled the lamp out, heard a "tink" and had a little broken piece of plastic in my hand and the lamp wouldn't lock in place... OK, my fault, I'm hamfisted... Bought a new one for $64 (this was back in '95) and used it for a year. Then the same bulb blew out. Repeated the same process and ended up with another broken socket. Sheesh, that thing was cheaply made. I decided it wasnt my hamfist and that I wasnt going to spend another $64, so I epoxied the bulb in place and soldered it's wires to the circuit board that was part of the lamp assembly.. You know what, I havent burned out another bulb ever again after doing that... That's good because that bulb isn't going to come out, no way, not ever... dickm On Mon, 24 Jan 2005 16:05:04 -0800, "Richard Minami" > wrote: >Anyone know of a place that sells the center brake lamp socket assembly >online?
