My Yukon turns hard in both directions. It feels like the tires are
pushing something. It takes more force than normal to turn to the left
and right. Pump? Any one had a problem like this? Thanks, Lyle

Do you have a 4x4? If so, make sure it's not in 4X4 mode. If
not, check if the PS pump has hydraulic fluid to the proper level.

Low power steering fluid usually makes a loud hum/vibration when you turn
the wheel. If the PS belt was broken completely, that would make it very
very hard to turn.

Check the air pressure in the tires, and as Frank said make sure 4WD is not
engaged.

I guess I should of said its a 1500 4WD. I put on a new rebuilt pump for
NAPA, it didn't help. It seems to be worse at the lower engine speeds. I
noticed at idel, it is extreamly dificult to turn the wheel. Now I am
wondering if I got a bad rebuilt pump? I am going to try to set the idel
up a bit. Thanks to all who responded.
