Default Back up and running.... darned Ethanol!

Got my '65 running again! Was using one of the other, air conditioned
cars during this past hot summer in TX but with the kids home on leave
they needed those vehicles. So I had to tackle the issues with Jenny
(the Inside Out Cow).
All wiring is fine.

Opened up the carb and sprayed around a bit, ensured the needle valve
was not jammed, added some carb cleaner directly into the bowl. Verified
that the fuel pump was working OK, that gas was flowing from the tank to
the fuel pump, replaced the points and timed it. It was finally running
OK until about every 5 minutes or so it would start to misfire and loose
power. Pumping the gas would keep it going for a bit but ultimately I
had to shut it down and let it site for a few minutes. I put carb
cleaner (seafoam and some left over injector cleaner) in the gas and as
it got back in the groove the shutdown only had to be 30 seconds or so.
We were thinking that crud may be collecting around the tank inlet and
settling back down after the suction stopped, but just in case it was
water in the fuel I added a bottle of HEAT fuel dryer. OK, by now I
only had 3 gallons in the tank. Lets see, 1 can of seafoam when I had 5
gallons, a little carb cleaner, and now a can of HEAT.... hmm.... was
going to run it until the tank was drained but finally figured that
MAYBE I was trying to run on additives vs fuel... and the gasohol was 3
or 4 months old.... so I added 1.5 gallons of fresh fuel.

Hey, it runs much better. Strange thing is that the
hesitation/stumbling occurs after about 2 miles on startup if the
morning is damp and cool but in the afternoon when starting up there is
no problem.

Some friends and I suspect that the gasohol separated a bit and maybe
had crud in it too.
