Thank You Uwe
Frankly, disappointing numbers to be honest. ==--== "Uwe Schürkamp" > wrote in message ... > On Sat, 07 Jun 2008 01:17:18 GMT, ==--== wrote: >> What kind of numbers online Larry? >> >> Will it support 50+ 60+ ?? drivers in a race? >> Has that been tested? I'm afraid it's more complicated than that, but when the beta started we had
close to 100 online at one time. Bear in mind, those signed into the race were broken up into like skill levels on their own servers. I believe we had around 20 in mine. Like I said, it's more complicated than your question -Larry "==--==" > wrote in message news:ykl2k.10580$gc5.8799@pd7urf2no... > What kind of numbers online Larry? > > Will it support 50+ 60+ ?? drivers in a race? > Has that been tested? It's not due to bandwidth. It's due to racers being grouped into like skill
level's. The system is far more complicated than a single question like "How many can race at once" -Larry "<==-==>" > wrote in message news:lZ93k.16038$js6.1003@pd7urf1no... > Thank You Uwe > > Frankly, disappointing numbers to be honest. > > ==--== > > "Uwe Schürkamp" > wrote in message > ... >> On Sat, 07 Jun 2008 01:17:18 GMT, ==--== wrote: >>> What kind of numbers online Larry? >>> >>> Will it support 50+ 60+ ?? drivers in a race? >>> Has that been tested? Boy, you really seem to be mis-reading things. I know nothing about special
offers. There is no break if you get an invite. You are simply being afforded the opportunity to be one of the early signers. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want one, fine. If not, that's fine too. No one is masquarading anything around here. As far as the warp, what I said is what I mean. Since a certain period in the beta, I have witness zero warp issues. Some may have, I'm just indicating what _I_ have witnessed. Really man, you can take off your tin hat. There is no conspiracy there. -Larry "<==-==>" > wrote in message news:Jc73k.18412$C12.16715@pd7urf3no... > > Heck...I hate to have to answer my own question.... but it seems like > no-one else will !?! > Strange me thinks > >>> Hasn't really been a concern so far. > > -Larry << > > Nice "cover answer" Larry, but is that it? > Can you or anyone actually answer the other questions posted here? > > Of course in the same way, iRacing "hasn't really been a concern for me > either" as I haven't and probably won't pay for it. > > I'm also a bit appalled with the "marketing strategy" er, um, I mean > "special offers" (do I have 10 yet?) that are being paraded around and > MASCARADED as it they are actually some sort of "special offer". > > ~allowing me to join and pay~ is NOT a "special offer". > > A FREE TRIAL - well that might be a special offer. 2 for 1 - I think that > is a special offer... > but sign up now and pay forever.... so that someone else can pay later > (get everything up to that point for the entrance fee) and then pay > forever? That is correct. Yellows and pitting have not been implemented yet.
iRacing is a growing animal that will probably never really be 'finished' -Larry "schooner" > wrote in message news:88t2k.98$L03.55@edtnps92... > Larry - Can you confirm that yellow flags and pit stops have not yet been > implemented? Just to re-iterate, field size is not a simple thing to figure out.
It is based on driver skill levels and the number of people signed up for a race. I have been in races with upwards of 20 people and have had no issues. -Larry "schooner" > wrote in message news:MB63k.373$sg6.334@edtnps91... > Thanks. The top-tiers will be full tracks. |

Like you have already said, it isn't going to be for everyone. To me, it looks interesting and I would like to give it a go. I did some club racing in the 60s and when it got too expensive I quit......:-). Yea, I am that old.....:-). I don't know if I will get an early invite or not, and don't know how long I will stay in it if I do but it is an interesting concept. I just have DSL at about 7-800k and may or may not have issues. I do fine on other online sims like GTR2 etc. I got tired of wreckfests and haven't done any online racing for a long time. I like aggressive racing, but not crazy racing. There is a difference. I like online races that I can drive as if I were driving my own vehicle.......:-). That seems to be the kind of business model that iRacing is using. Ed |
