Default problem: Rally Trophy with Wingman Rumblepad

I was looking for something to play on the sofa/HTPC with my GF, and
she mentioned driving games. I haven't bought a new wheel yet (or even
have a good way to set one up in this space) so my thought was to use
my Wingman Rumblepad gamepad to play Rally Trophy. Problem is when I
try to configure the controller, the game hangs.

Anyone know if this game will work with any analog gamepad?
