Just bought a 91 YJ...few questions
Never have used a group before, so here goes... I just bought a 91 Jeep
Wrangler YJ. Looks like the transmission is going to need work (it grinds when downshifting). Also the dashboard light for the speedometer does not seem to work (although all the other indicator lights work). Can anyone lend me some expert advice regarding the tranny and the dashboard light. Thanks alot. |

As for the dash light, it's a $1 part. -- ..boB 1997 HD FXDWG - Turbocharged Stolen 11/26/05 in Denver 1HD1GEL10VY3200010 CO License J5822Z 2001 Dodge Dakota QC 5.9/4x4/3.92 1966 Mustang Coupe - Daily Driver 1965 FFR Cobra - 427W EFI, Damn Fast. |

My YJ was grinding a bit, it was water in the transmission from driving through water. Changed the trans fluid and problem gone > |

The put high water vents on everything else like the differentials and transfer case, but not the tranny... I fixed mine by pulling the button and inserting a piece of steel gas line in there for a nipple to attach a high water vent hose. I have crossed up to 42" deep of water with no issues.
