Installed Brembo front rotors on 97 Accord: So far so good.
I got standard (non slotted, non drilled) front brembo rotors for $60 each
from autopartswarehouse.com, I also got a set of Nissin premium pads. All three parts cost $142 with shipping. I broke the new pads/rotors in carefully and am happy to report that they have good pedal feel and so far no hint of warpage. I am real careful with lug nut torque and making sure rear brakes are adjusted right and bled-out well. My problem has been with heavy freeway stop and go traffic I _toast_ brake rotors. I had a set of Honda rotors that were only a year old that were warped pretty bad. Interestingly the honda pads on there were cracked through the middle (the friction material). Of course with the 97 accord ya gotta tear apart the whole front end to swap rotors....ugh. I did a lot of research and Brembo seems to have a good rep and they are TUV certified by German Ministry of Transport). My other test is gonna be to put some Brembos on my 97 Avalon (pig-on-wheels) that is brutal on brakes. I don't know if the Nissin pads are the best, but I figure if Nissin makes the brakes for Honda, they can't be all bad. |

I put drilled and slotted Brembo's F/R w/ceramic pads. 12k miles later
I added stainless braided hoses F/R and that added another 10 to 15 ft improvement in the 70 to 0 test. 1996 EX-V6 4DR Love them...
