From the point of view of someone who helps administer a league, sounds like
this will be a stunning single player / pickup racer experience and if the
promise is fulfilled I will no doubt purchase.

My league hopes are all with FIRST-Racing and rFactor. FR tech is proven in
this field, rF is an unkown quantity.

Future looks bright, tho

Well I find nothing strange with that, I often did it with Nascar Replay
Analyzer and NR2003 and it actually works.
You save a replay of one of your good laps, you load it in the analyzer and you
compare it to the best lap of, say, Huttu, which you previously downloaded.
You can then merge the laps and see them together in-game; you can analyze all
sort of graphs: traction, brake, grip, gear shifting and readily sort out what
you're doing wrong, where you're braking too early, where you're accelerating
too late, what's wrong with your setup, and so on. It's a wonderful tool,
actually.

Btw the console version has been out for some months now, and I find it to be
the best console driving simulator overall. That doesn't say much actually,
because of the lack of competition.... but it shows that EAS is definitely
aiming at a simulation style of game, not an arcade.
After all, previous versions of Nascar Thunder for PC were not that bad,
although showing more potential than actual quality... but I've always thought
that, with some effort, this could challenge Papy's NR one day.

The console version has nothing to do with this new PC version as far as I
know. 2 totally different products with little in common.

Just curious, but did any of the Papy guys get hired on at EA to help with
this one?

IFAIK, there has been ex-papy people there since NT2003. Here's hoping they
get it right this time.
