Can anyone tell me if it is possible to connect to a dedicated internet
server with a computer that is directly connected to that server (LAN)?

Yes this is possible. On the client, click on the blue "+" above the race list then you can enter the internal ip address of the server. The server will then show up in the race list. Bart Westra

Actually I just discovered tonight that internet joiners can also choose just LAN and type my IP address in - the advantage being that just my server is shown so they don't have to hunt the list. -Marty
