F250 Diesel start problem .. Dealer no help
Looking for some help with an intermittent hot starting problem on a
2001 F250 SD PSD. The V8 turbo diesel. Truck starts fine the first time in the morning, but intermittently does not start if shut down after about 30 minutes. Engine cranks rapidly and fine -- would probably turn the engine over until the battery's run down. This truck is in sunny Florida but still glow plugs appear to light up, but the truck won't start again for various times from 5 minutes to the next day. Took it to the Ford Dealer and they said it wouldn't start because "it had low oil"; it was NOT low on oil. But still let the dealer change the oil and filter -- but no surprise this didn't help the problem. Left me stranded again this morning. Ran it first for about 20 minutes; shut it off for about 1 1/2 hours; now it won't restart! This has been happening for about a month now. Help and advice please .. thanks ..... Mike Mike |
