98 Mazda 1.5L ECU/PCM Reset
Having just installed a 1.5L into a Protege (5 speed manual) is it wise and
even possible to reset the ECU/PCM so it has to "relearn" the engine. If so, how do you do it? Many thanks, Bill |

FWIW, the Miata procedure is to disconnect the battery, then hold the brake pedal down for 10 seconds. Or maybe it's 30 seconds. Note: this also triggers the anti-theft function in the radio, so have your code handy, clear it first, or know how to reset it. --- Lanny Chambers '94C, St. Louis http://www.hummingbirds.net/alignment.html |
