It looks pretty serious. I've got a kind of standard version but I think the
only ones that logically can provide serious improvement are "triangulated
between the strut towers and the center of the fire wall. To me, if you
don't 'close' the triangle (in other words, if you just connect the strut
towers to the firewall w/o also connecting the towers themselves or you just
connect the towers) you can't really accomplish much.

I got one of the ultra-cheap, "just connect the towers" braces on
eBay. Much to my surprise, it caused a marked reduction in cowl shake
when installed correctly. As far as bang for the buck on a street
driven car it was a big winner.

This is not to say that a more sophisticated and robust design might
not be even *better*.
