Lead in car batteries, yes, but > are you going to ban batteries too? > Actually,there are electronic solders with no lead that have much lower melting points than standard 63/37 solder. Chip-Quik solder melts at 160 degF,no lead.(for SMD parts removal) They cost more,though,some types a LOT more. SLA batteries are required to be recycled.You can drop them off at Wal-Mart and many other stores.(same for used motor oil!)
