I haven't read throught it all but it looks like they default to the
Feds on quite a few things. All the Feds have to do is say that
domestic drilling is now a matter of national security and they can do
whatever they please anywhere they please. Look at what they did during
WWII to complete the Manhattan Project. The states they built the
facilities in had no idea what was going on and they were setting off
nukes above ground!

Their plan is to raise the retirement age or make it so a retiree has to
hold a part time job to have a decent standard of living. Then they can
keep taxing you to the grave. Wait until these Boomers have a serious
health problem and the government decides the treatment is too expensive
so they just suffer and/or die. I expect housing to take another nose
dive when the Boomers start selling their houses because they need the
money ot can't afford the property taxes and/or mortgage. Liberals want
us to have a socialist society and they are doing a damn good job of
leading us to it.

It's at least several miles out, according to this (a very interesting
read, btw):
http://preview.tinyurl.com/5udrq7

Can you say 'reverse discrimination'? It's beyond the point where
minorities and special interests have so many "perks" to appease their
hurt feelings that it's all meaningless now.

As you say, Spike, just freakin' call everyone 'Americans' and be done
with it. Everyone's free to practice their own religion, honor their
heritage, etc. etc. But it's over the line when they want _me_ to bend
to their ways. We're all Americans - that says it all.

It all gets back to the whole greed/power thing, and the stakes are
getting higher every day. When we're up to $5/gallon and it costs
double to feed your family than it did today, people simply won't be
able to afford "going green".

I can't wait to see how many "greenies" will be starving because they
can't afford groceries, but they'll be driving their Priuses...

Just read an article that people should quit thinking in MPG and start
thinking in GPM.

Yeah, it doesn't pay to get rid of a car that is paid for, just to buy
a greener for the mileage.

I do notice that a large portion, and growing, of the population is
being cut out of society. Baby boomers who can't afford the cost of
cable tv, let alone buy a new tv set. People who can't afford to keep
up with the changes in computers, cell phones, or anything else, let
alone afford broadband, wireless, camera phones, etc.

I've been wondering when the order will come down to ship us off to
the kool aid camps......

Fred Thompson? I would have voted FOR him. He has the old style sense
of values, has experience in Congress.

One day two rabbits weres hopping through the woods when thye was
confronted by three weasels. The biggest weasel said, you can be
dinner or you can go free, but you have to fight one of us.

One rabbit spoke up and asked each weasel how much he weighed... and
then he made his choice which to fight.

As the two rabbits headed down the road, one ragged and torn.... the
other asked him how he decided which weasel to fight. The ragged, torn
up rabbit said, "I just picked the lessor of three weasels."

The moral of the story is that no matter which weasel you pick, you're
still going to get busted up, but with the lessor weasel you just
might survive.

Strange.... we watched the commies bankrupt themselves with their
brand of socialism in the USSR and Cuba... and these fools think they
can still get it to work. Ah what fools these morons be! Even the
Chinese are getting into our ways... but with a slight twist.

Germany is already allowing docs to provide extra heavy duty sedatives
to the elderly and infirm so they can do themselves in rather than
wait for medical care they will never receive while enduring the pain
of their failing health and ecnomic status.
