I can understand...BUT I just could not see myself driving an Acura or
any Honda... just not my thing..sort of rather push my Chevy then
drive a Ford etc

Although I am now "only" in my early 60's I still feel like 39 so
maybe driving Corvettes interfered with my aging process... ..

Bob Griffiths
68 SS 396 Chevelle
64 & 72 Corvette Convertibles
76 79 & 95 Corvette Coupes....

I budget 500 a year for each car for maintance and repairs...etc..
and honestly it has been YEARS since I even came close to
spending that amount of money ... And my 95
will turn 70,000 miles this weekend and it has NEVER EVER not even
ONCE been back to the dealer...

Yeah, I know what you mean, mine has a 118K on it. I keep thinking about
tossing in the plugs and wires I bought 20K miles ago, but it still runs
perfect so I keep putting it off. I never take it to the dealer though. I
prefer to do the work myself, even if I half to take it a shop to have it
diagnosed.

Am 63 -- my Prelude is a 5 spd with the 200 hp engine you can rev to 7500
and a top end of 140. I run it hard every day in the 50 miles I drive to
work. Although the Prelude does not have the power and performance of a C5,
you still can have a lot of fun for a heck of lot less money and with no
problems. When I had my Corvettes I had to rely on a 1970 Honda CB 750 four
to get me to work more often than I cared. I have become spoiled with
"trouble-free" driving. Interestingly, I had a Corvette afficienado tell me
at a car show earlier this year than there is only one mechanic in the
entire state of GA who has gone through Corvette factory training -- so most
dealers lack the ability to fix 'em if things really go wrong. I found that
to be almost unbelievable -- but if true, lies at the heart of the problem.

Do you have the sequential gearbox in the Prelude (similar to the
Tiptronic)?

In the 14 years - 300,000+ miles - that I have been driving C4s I have
always had access to at least two other vehicles at all times. I just
really don't need the other two vehicles, except to haul duck decoys, wet
dogs, and take trash to a dumpster....

My current C4 has 114,000 miles on it and is my daily driver - it'll still
nudge the 170 mark, give me 25+mph on a trip, and does everything I ask of
it without complaint (except shut down the Sony CD 6-pack if I provide too
many G's on a turn).

I put about 35,000 miles a year on Corvettes, while my truck gets but about
200 miles a year put on it.

I've owned 50+ cars in my life, some of them the so-called "great" cars, but
none have been as trouble free as all of my C4s.
