Republicans

Even the Republicans' sense of political self-interest seems dimmed by
their
anti-union zealotry. Senate Republicans may think they gain political
points
by standing against assistance to a major industry, but they will
suffer
political damage lasting generations if they permit the U.S. auto
industry to
collapse. - Ralph Nader

Ron, if you owned a business, would YOU want your employees to be

And why do you suppose a business owner would not want that? Could
those reasons be the very same ones that make the employees want a
Union?

And how many businesses have you owned? That's what I thought.......

Tell you what. Start your own business. Buck the trend and be an
excellent
boss so that the emplyees like you. Fight govenment red tape,
regulations,
EPA rules, pay your rent, insurance, state and local taxes, wages for
yourself and your employees.

And maybe your employees will start up a union (with your help, of
course)
so that all will be well with you and your employees.

Report back to us and tell us how easy it is to run a business.

Now, what's your mustang question?

There in lies something else I don't understand. I own a business,
say some kind of small computer co or something. Some guy walks in and
says "Hi, I'm Beavis and I am the negotiator for the Local 452 PCI card
fitters union. Your employees have voted for me to negotiate their
contracts from now on."

He's shown the door and anyone that does not get the amount of raise
they want may go elsewhere for a job if they wish. If they all say
"Well, we strike!" they are fired for not showing up. Just because some
Bozo tells me he's the arbiter does not mean I have to listen to/deal
with him.
