'90 accord ecu code 43
Hi all,
My 90 accord has about 255,000km, it drives great and it's been maintained well. A few days ago, my engine light came on while driving < 60 on a downward slope in town. Now the light comes back consistently at speeds over > 80 when I drive on the highway. I've reset the ecu with no avail. I get the ecu code 43. I see 4 long flashes, 3 short ones followed by a pause, a short flash and then everything repeats again. Some people on the newsgroup mentioned a potential oxygen sensor problem. What are the costs (parts and labour) for this kind of problem in Canada ? thanks in advance, -Vlad |

Thanks Jim,
I realize code 1 is the oxygen sensor and some rule of thumb says it appears together with code 43. Does anyone know the labour costs involved? Is it < 1 hour kind of job? thanks again vlad On Sun, 11 Mar 2007 11:26:11 -0700, jim beam wrote: > Vlad Ciubotariu wrote: >> Hi all, >> >> My 90 accord has about 255,000km, it drives great and it's been >> maintained well. >> >> A few days ago, my engine light came on while driving < 60 on >> a downward slope in town. '90 accord ecu code 43
Hi All,
I was getting a 43 code (fuel system) followed by a 1 (oxygen sensor). My symptoms were a few random losses of power at small speeds and high gas consumption, partly also attributable to the cold weather conditions in Ontario. My mechanic checked the fuel pressure (code 43) and found nothing wrong. So we went and replaced the O2 sensor with an OEM one and the check engine light is now gone. The car also `seems' to me to have better acceleration and smaller rpms at high speeds. vlad On Sun, 11 Mar 2007 14:53:54 -0400, Vlad Ciubotariu wrote: > Thanks Jim, > > I realize code 1 is the oxygen sensor and some rule of thumb says it > appears together with code 43. > > Does anyone know the labour costs involved?
