Gearbox in 1990 Miata
I have a 1990 Miata with 140K miles on it. I use it on a daily basis.
Lately, the gearchange has not been working as smoothly as it used to. One symptom is that it's now easier to beat the synchromesh when changing gears. I can avoid this problem by changing from one gear to another more deliberately. However, the other symptom is more difficult to avoid. Sometimes I come to a stop and then have difficulty in getting into first gear. I have to wrestle it in, or maybe start off in second, although even that is sometimes difficult. Does anyone know what these symptoms indicate, and what repairs might cost? |

Have you checked your clutch fluid reservoir level? Pat |
