Default 1997 dodge avenger

car shuts off when you come to a stop or red light
but starts rightaway, what can be my problem ???? ,car does not idle so i
removed the idle screw cap and ajusted the idle to about 700 rpm to were
the vehicle dosent shut off vehicle is working fine,can it be the idle
speed sensor,fuel pump?
spak plugs,spak plug wires,air filter are new.
1997 avenger 4 cylinder.any ideas?

rec.autos.4X4... you didnt note, is this the 4x version of the Avenger?
