Default 93 Honda Civic AC Only Works Occasionally HELP! ???? ....

Hello everyone. I recently bought a very nice 1993 Civic DX 4 door. The
air conditioning only works when you first start the car and can last
up to 10 minutes or so before it stops getting cold. If left on, it
sometimes kicks back on. Any idea's on this? I recently had it
converted to R134a coolant and it still does the same thing. When it's
working, it's ice cold. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in
advance.

Brian

Your AC might be freezing up from moisture internally. Have you replaced
your receiver dryer and was your system evacuated properly to remove all
moisture when you had your system converted? It might be kicking back in
after the ice melts and then running for a short time? Good Luck.

I have not replaced my receiver dryer. Unfortunately, I'm not even sure
what that is. I had the system evacuated and converted professionally.
They told me that to completely have it converted that I would need a
new compressor. Is this true? Thanks for the reply.
