Car manufacturers top R&D list

and http://128.150.4.107/statistics/seind06/c4/tt04-06.htm Ford was second only to Microsoft in 03, and was #1 in 02. Unbelievable. It certainly doesnt show in their products. EIther they hire mediocre scientists, or the management doesnt give them the research freedom they need.
