chevyzr2 1997 hard starting
I have 97 chevyzr2 4.3L with about 128k on it. I never really had a
problem with it until now. I keep it well maintained, but I realize parts are getting old and I have to address that sometime in the near future. My problem is with start up, even when really cold, the engine starts up sluggishly. And when hot, will crank several times before starting. Actually, I stop the cranking and it barely runs until it gets to normal idle. I get a strong smell of gas (flooding) and sometime it smells like model glue. (no Kidding) Once it's started, it runs well, but it consumes a bit more gas than unsual. I know this thing has a ton of sensors, and sofar, no check engine light comes on. I'm sure there's a code in there somewhere, but I'm not sure if it's OBII port. My own thoughts suggest that a sensor(s) have bit the dust. But which one(s). Crank MAF TPS Temp MAP Or maybe it's an injector issue, the list is long. I'm hoping someone on here has had a similar trouble, or that maybe a GM mechanic subcribes here. Any thoughts on my trouble would be greatly apperciated. My email is Mike Thanks |
