Hey Sam,

Once in a while I peek in via Google Groups. I still keep screwing up
my replies though - I think I keep sending directly to poster instead
of group.

My email is still seeverist, however I haven't been on Peoplepc for
about 10 years. Since then I've been to Earthlink (and left). However
that email address is still good if you add comcast, yahoo, or gmail
to the end (creative, huh?).

I just sold my project Buick about a month ago. I sent it to the guy
who built the motor to get it finished and ready to go to the track.
However another friend was storing it at his place while the
transmission was being rebuilt. He needed a motor for his GS400
convert and my 'builder' mentioned a deal I had offered him when he
picked up the car. So long story short, I sold the whole car and a lot
of extra parts and pieces to him for a good deal (way less than the
value of what was there). I figured it had been about 5 years since it
was at the track and I wasn't in a hurry to get back with it either.
Plus, it was going to be a pretty jarring ride if I wanted to drive it
around town, which I likely wouldn't do. So I cut bait.

In the meantime, I picked up one of those Rav4's for a daily driver as
my Ranger was falling apart. No recalls on mine and I took it to the
track and got a 15.05 @ 91.34 mph with a best 60' time of 2.14.
There's a guy on the east coast with the same year/version with just a
cold intake, ultraflow muffler, and lighter wheel/tire package who hit
a 13.93 and 13.94 during cold weather. I won't be changing the wheels,
but will work with the intake and exhaust and hope to see mid to low
14's with it. Not bad for AWD and 29 mpg the day I drove it 50 miles
home.

I'm also keeping my eyes open for something else that can be a
comfortable driver while also running consistent numbers in the 13's
or better so that I can do some bracket racing.

So when are you going to make it out in the Seattle area?
Are you still in FL?
I would have offered you the Buick for the Cobra... but I sold it a
couple of months ago to someone who wanted the engine.

Yep, the oil-stained state.

I only have a two-slot garage so that's why the Cobra has to go and
the reason I don't want a second nice car.
