Coming late to the discussion... this happened twice with my 147 - both
warranty replacements of the turbo hose due to crap design where it rubbed
against main earth strap on engine and wore a hole after a few '000 miles!
(they changed the pipe design when 2nd one was fitted)

Yep it does turn heads, and if you're driving with the sun behind (or lights
at night) the engine doesn't half belch out a lot more smoke than normal!
Mine went the 2nd time on holiday so ended up driving as if the throttle
pedal was made of egg shell!
