Where did you guys mount your 2.5 pound fire extinguisher?

On the vertical part of the roll-bar, just behind the driver's seat.

On the floor in front of the gear shift. You can reach it with the seat
belt on.

As Roy said, on the floor is the safest and most convenient location...
especially if you're trapped inside your Jeep and it's burning where an
extinguisher mounted behind you on the rollbar would be unreachable. My
5 lb. extinguisher is mounted to my seat base supports in front where
all I have to do is pull it up out of its spring steel clip mount.
