Absolutely amazing car. I wonder what it cost M. Dubonnet when new.

Now that looks like something out of the sci-fi pulps of the day, wildly
futuristic in a distinctly '30s sort of way. Beautiful, all the same.

More than that, I can't imagine what that would bring at auction. With its
historical impact and provenance, it could set records, if it hasn't
already.

One thing that has me curious is that, seeing how it's currently owned by an
Angleno, why we haven't seen its like before. You'd think it'd be in some
show on the West Coast, like, oh, say, Pebble Beach?

What a fantastic beast. Nice placement too, it looks like a Bugatti Type 57
on steroids.

It was at Pebble Beach in 2000, when it won "Most Elegant Closed Car."

Really? I don't remember seeing it in any of the reports. That is an
outstanding car. Was that the year that Ralph Lauren's Alfa won for best of
show? That might explain why this Hisso didn't win overall. I can't
imagine what it would take to outpoint this beauty in a concours.

Best in show that year was this 1937 Delahaye 135MS Roadster by Figoni &
Falaschi, owned by Jacques Harguindeguy.
