How blatant does the offense need to be before all the other cops look at each other and say "yeah, we can't really help him with this one?" nate -- replace "roosters" with "cox" to reply. http://members.cox.net/njnagel |

Cops are required to drive in the far left lane at all times. Me? If I were the car on the right, I'd slow down and let the asshole pass. On the fictional side: Sound horn, point to officer, point to the side of the road. He pulls over with you to the shoulder. You get out of your car and confront the officer. "Sir? I'll need to see your driver's license, registration and proof of insurance card." "WTF? I am the officer of the law here, not you." "We shall see. Do you know why I pulled you over officer of the law?" "No." "Impeding the flow of traffic and intimidating. After some ten miles or more, when you had plenty of oppurtunity to do so, you refused to move to the right as is required by law. Your mere presence beside the other vehicle for so long was, in my opinion, intimidation. Because you know people are scared to pass cops, you hope that this one will so you can pull him over for speeding." After a rather lengthy discussion, the totally confused and dazed officer gets back into his cruiser. The next night, his face is all over the news. This fictional scenario brought to you by "The Lord of the Bull!". |

Tailgating a cop while shooting handheld video, passes on the R, moves back into the L lane when there's no one to pass, doesn't back off when the cop cuts him off, gets brake checked, hollers "Look at his driving!" Typical motorist, can't see his contribution to his "accident". I wonder what model cellphone shoots in 85x340 format... ----- - gpsman |

Not sure, but going the wrong way driving legally drunk on lake shore drive and thus killing two and injured one (besides the drunk cop) isn't quite enough to remove all special treatment. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/03/...e-drive-crash/ http://chicagophoenix.com/2013/03/20...mands-justice/ |
