Thanks for the info guys..I didn`t know about the body welding etc and was just
bouncing the idea around in my head since I saw some body lift kits listed somewhere |

Actually, the body IS the frame-- so they can't be seperated.
The "rails" under the body only serve to mount crossmembers and to slightly stiffen the entire structure. A minor point, sure-- but nonetheless important. Cherokees- <XJs> always had uniframe construction. You're confusing it with
the earlier fullsize SJ platform, which did have a Cherokee sub-model. The SJ had a full frame.
