Service Bulletin 04-027
January 24, 2007

Affected 2003 and 2004 Accords without Nav Unit

Component failure on the printed circuit board is now covered for 7
years/100,000 miles. With the recent proposed settlement of the
odometer problem, that should be an indicated mileage of 105,000
before the warranty is up.

The board will be replaced at the dealer by the tech. Looks to be a 2
hour job until they start learing how.

Only the dim/black display problem is covered by the extended
warranty. Other audio & a/c problems in the head unit remain at 3
years/36,000.

Apply for a refund if you've had the display problem and already paid
for repairs. About $900 is what I heard it cost to trade out the
entire head unit. Notice how Honda has cut its costs by only
replacing the circuit board now.

Extended warranty on this; free fix at the dealer...but Honda couldn't
be bothered to issue a notice to owners. Still better than no free fix
but they could do better.
