Default Wheels for 86 vs 96 ZR1

The wheels on my 86 are 16 inch and tires are 255 50. If I bought the 17
inch ZR1 wheels, what size tires would I need to keep the speedometer
accurate? And will these ZR1 wheels even work on the 86 model without
rubbing the body or frame?
Thank You
R L Prince

ZR1's ran from 1990-1995 so I'm assuming you're looking at the 94-95 wheels
star shaped. They are very nice. The tires are 315-35-17 in the rear and
275-40-17 in the front. You will need wheel adaptors to install them...

Good Luck

Shut-up Dan. Buy a factory service manual. Stop living vicariously off
your friend's ZR1. You are to cheap to own a ZR1.

You will need body modifications like the 1996 Grand Sport.
Your speedometer and odometer will give you the wrong numbers.

Frankly I don't think it's a good idea.

my '86 has zr1 17" wheels. as far as rubbing-no problem. also they are
sold to fit '84-'87 vettes without an adaptor. with the
speedometer,it seems a bit off. that's something i didn't think of duh!
