Although it doesn't apply to school zones and other special areas. The
85th percentile limit elsewhere reinforces why these areas are special.

You obviously never tried on a Friday evening. When I used to drive to
Tucson for the weekend it toook more than two hours just to get to the
805 split from the El Toro Y, and my starting point is a good 50 miles
closer to SD than yours is.

Then again, you like to leave LA for the Bay Area at midnight and
arrive the following morning, so if you travel to SD at the same sorts
of times I believe you actually could accomplish it.

You write software and you still have to drive to work? 4 hours a day, no
less?

What kind of backwoods state is California anyway? Haven't you gotten cable
modems yet?

Nah. I tend to go down on Tuesday afternoons, and come back on Friday
nights after 8PM. I usually leave out of the OC from my GF's place,
which means it's usually a little more than an hour door-to-door. The
'5 South of the populated area of the OC is almost all 100MPH (in the
nearly-empty right lane, 'cause the rest of the Californians are all
riding mostly as left as they can go).
