My '86 with some mods now gets a lovely 18mpg on average. I'm
probably more around 300hp.

I haven't really followed what quality issues any of the newer
vettes have, but I do know some of the crap they designed into my
vintage is just riduclous. Luckily, it's the easiest car I've
ever had to work on (save for changing a couple of the plugs when
the headers are still hot).

But damn, it is fun to drive.
