1990 Ford F150 fuel pump keeps running?

Hello,

I have a 1990 Ford F150 ext. cab 5.0L V8 with @125000 miles.

This past summer I had many instances where the fuel pump would cycle
on and off when closing the driver side door with the engine not
running and the key out?????? Sometimes after driving and then
shutting the engine off, the fuel pump will continue to run until I
start the engine back up right away and then shut it off again. Is
there a bad relay somewhere or do I need to get at the fuel pump -
where ever that is? The truck has duel tanks. Is the fuel pump
between the tanks? Hard to get at I suppose. I have no idea what a
service garage would charge to look at this?

Any info would be truely appreciated!
