Default 147 Gear Stick Problem

Hi all

I'm having a problem with my 2002 147 1.6TS. The gear stick seems very
stiff. When in neutral, I really have to force it to move, its very
difficult getting it in gear, especially swithing down to 3rd, and it
generally is not feeling right at all.

Anybody else experienced this problem? And is it expensive to put
right? Car is 2 months outside warranty!

Thanks in advance
Ian

I had a 147 1.6 as a courtesy car when I was getting a service. The linkage
was completely shafted, real fumbling trying to find the gate. Maybe it's a
common problem...

Just got my 2001 147 1.6 TS Lusso back from a service and when it went
in it had the same problem. They greased the linkage and freed off a
bush in the selector housing and it now works again like a dream, a
bit of labour was all it cost me really. Only problem I have now is
third gear is sometimes a bit difficult to select but apparently new
gearbox guides might help this.
