I want to stress that, as a corporation, FedEx exceeded my expectations, and I should have made that clear previously. Although their drivers are very inconsiderate at times, I've learned the company seems to care about our safety. That said: http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/8125/fedex8du.jpg I've removed the plates (which were visable at 4 megapixel) since, as I said, I'm satisfied with the outcome. You can see the brake lights, and how close the truck was at this point. It got much closer between shots, but this is the best evidence. Both vehicles were going over the 30mph speed limit & 85th percentile speeds by my estimation. I walk that street quite often, as well as drive it, and the average speed is about 30 mph because of the narrow lanes and poor visability. Robinson Ave @ CA-163 is the location, for those curious. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=92103&...0274&t=h&hl=en And the reason I was taking pictures there, a sign still posted on 12-2-05: http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/1350/oldca1635fk.jpg Dave |

What do you suppose FedEx would tell me if I called them to report how their drivers double-park in the street, blocking traffic and/or boxing in other vehicles, while they run inside to deliver their packages? Do you suppose the FedEx honchos would put an end to this asinine practice? |

I asked a traffic cop to ticket a FedEx truck that was double parked in downtown SD. "We don't do that," he said. Dave |

I was in a food court/strip mall one day when some delivery truck driver did his usual double-parking job. Just then an Irvine policeman, who was apparently returning to duty after his lunch break, called over to the truck driver "say, why don't you park your truck in a parking space instead of out here blocking traffic?" The truck driver meekly got back into his truck and pulled into one of the many available parking spaces. Kudos to the Irvine PD! |
