Actually, if everybody drove 180 mph to work, it might use more gas in
the short term, but after a while, traffic would improve and gas prices
would go down!

Bull****. I do the SL all the time, in the right lane - "just for fun" (try
it sometime; it's an interesting exercise). Maybe drivers are more
attentive here; if they're rear-ending slower people where you live they
need to be banned from the roadways.

I do too. It can get pretty boring over in the right lane
though....everybody minding their own business, etc. It's fun to watch all
the activity over in the left lanes though!

actually the governement could do a better job timing the traffic
signals so we don't have to stop and go and our cars would get closer
to the highway mileage instead of the city mileage...

IIRC, isn't the figure for the increase in gas efficiency, if our
traffic lights were better coordinated, around 40%?
