Hi Mo, If your uncle owned a Strato Chief he owned a Canadian Pontiac. The
Strato Chief was at different times the entry level and middle level model. There was also a Pathfinder below and a Laurentian above this. max "Mo" > wrote in message ... >I thought I was seeing a typo when I read "Star Chief". Hi Mo, Here are some shots of 1955 Pontiacs, one a Laurentian and the other
a Pathfinder Deluxe. Both are essentially Pontiac bodies on Chevrolet mechanical components on a Chevrolet chassis. And I've also included some 1962 Laurentian pictures. The Pathfinder must have been like a Plymouth Fury I, a Ford Custom and Chevrolet Biscayne where they did not even have carpets as standard. Ron |

That's right. The Pathfinder was the bottom of the ladder for Pontiac in
Canada and there has never been anyone who could make a car look more stripped than the domestics (except maybe some of the post-war austerity models from England -- I'm thinking of the Standard Eight or the Ford Popular, for example).
