An amazing set of pictures, Leroy, from what must have been another
wonderful Goodwood Festival. I bet the sounds and smells were all they could be. The photos are good and go a long way to conveying the spirit of the event but I'm sure that there is nothing to beat being there in person and taking it all in in every sense. Thanks for sharing these. max "Leroy Curtis" > wrote in message ... |

Great pictures as always Leroy, thanks! And even an Alfa 33 version I
haven't seen before to boot. Amazing how many versions and bodystyles were made of this car. André. On Sun, 08 Nov 2009 13:51:35 -0600, (Leroy Curtis) wrote: |

It was a great three days, with lots to see, as ever, and a wonderful variety of cars from all areas of motorsport. It amazes me how Lord March manages each year to rustle up some cars we haven't seen before, and to think of some new themes for the event. This year there were celebrations of 75 years of the Silver Arrows, 40 years of the Porsche 917 and 40 years of Williams in F1, so the German racers of the 1930s, together with 917s and Williamses were much in evidence. -- Regards Leroy Curtis Please replace "nospam" with "baram" in my address if you wish to reply by Email |

Well they were crashed a bit. 8-)
These are wonderful shots Leroy. I have an elderly friend who has been to LeMans, Daytona 24, Sebring, Monaco, Monza, Pebble, Amelia, etc. He said just last week that his 'one more thing' to do is make it to Goodwood. john "André Ritzinger" > wrote in message ... > Great pictures as always Leroy, thanks! Thanks, John >I have an elderly friend who has been to LeMans, Daytona 24, Sebring, >Monaco, Monza, Pebble, Amelia, etc. He said just last week that his 'one >more thing' to do is make it to Goodwood. He must do it. The atmosphere at Goodwood is very special, and to see and hear so many historic vehicles at such close quarters is wonderful. We were chatting with the owners of the Mercer, who told us that in their opinion, while Pebble Beach always has lots of fine cars, there is an element of snobbishness about the place which us totally absent from Goodwood. Nevertheless, Pebble is on my list of "must-dos." And although I've been to the Indy 500, I've never been to a Formula 1 GP. One day..... -- Regards Leroy Curtis Please replace "nospam" with "baram" in my address if you wish to reply by Email |
