This is why I find it hard to stay away from iRacing...

I'm two weeks into my second month on iRacing, and although none of my schizoid
love it/hate it instincts have gone away, I have finally discovered a keyboard
shortcut which makes movie making more viable in iRacing. That led me to put
together this 'trailer'...

That might give you an idea why the Skip Barber has such a magnetic attraction for

Looks just like an rFactor mod. That's why I don't find it hard to never
purchase iRacing.

Believe me, the Skip Barber is far, *far* more satisfying to drive than any rFactor
mod I've ever tried.

I wish that wasn't true, because I still dislike much of iRacing's structure, even
without the ongoing cost at a time when the dollar is ridiculously over-priced. But
I've been inspired enough to try and show my enjoyment in the form of a movie. That
takes quite some doing these days... I'm getting very lazy in my old age. :-)

I drove the Formula Mazda last night. How does it compare to the Skip

I haven't bought the Mazda, so I'm not sure (and have yet to be tempted by the, er,
offline demo floating around). I believe the Mazda is much 'grippier', but the fun
in driving the SB -- as it was for the cars in GPL -- is the lack of grip. I find
it uniquely satisfying, especially when combined with iRacing's admirable force
feedback.

Part of me is curious about the other cars, but I have no intention of buying them
or the tracks I'd need to race them online for a season. I may have been partially
assimilated by the iRacing marketing machine, but I'll be b*ggered if I'm
swallowing the line and sinker as well as the hook!

Not yet anyway. My position on iRacing remains embarrassingly malleable. :-)

I KNOW there are people running it under Vista64. Make sure you contact
support. They are very quick to respond.

Sometimes it's not the OS or the SIM that's the issue. NOD32 has a few
known problems for example.
