Default Auto transmisson problem

69 semi auto tranny is makeing a heavy tapping sound, like a very
loose rocker.
It runs good but sounds bad and seems to be worse when in reverse.

Any help would be appreciated

no its comming from the center plate area and is noisey when the car
isn't moveing. It does run good, so the noise is the only problem at
this time.
