The ducktail on the Walther is too short. (It irritates the pin
holding my thumb together...) -- I prefer the Bersa .380 I bought the
wife for her CCL much better.

Walther's can be improved greatly and the hammer bite eliminated by the
addition of Pachmayr grips. The grip covers the backstrap and causes the gun
to sit just a bit higher in the hand.

Those are all girly-guns. Here's what you want for your NC cupholder:

The Casull will allegedly stop a brown bear, if you don't wimp out on
the bullet weight. Use two hands, Iva. Or maybe three.

(The mere thought of firing this cannon makes my hands hurt.)

LOL! I did not know that was a challenge!

It might stop a bear, but what about that SUV on your rear bumper? Here
is a good choice for that. :-)

I would think the idea is that if your revolver cannot stop your
bear/tiger/elephant, the big game might end up hunting you. Why
would that not be a challenge to a revolver or LOL?

Perhaps I should be more clear; I did not know that was a challenge
that sane people people engage in.

Frankly, I don't think anyone really recreationally hunts big game
with a revolver. I think these guns are being marketed to... ummm...
dope dealers and the sort of criminal that enjoy conspicuous excess.

I don't think it would fit in the cupholder, Pat.

No argument there, Dana!

Yes, apparently some actually do (it's not legal everywhere). But the
turbo-studly piece I noted was designed as bear protection for Alaskan
outdoorsmen, reputedly the most-easily-wearable weapon capable of doing
the job. If it ain't on your body, it's too far away to save you.

Of course, that ignores the overwhelming fact that a far, far lower
percentage of people have gotten hurt using pepper spray than firearms
to defend themselves against bear attacks. Bear spray is almost $900
cheaper, too.

I still wonder whether any Redhawk user under 300 pounds wouldn't get
hurt worse by the pistol than by the bear. A .454 with a 2.5" barrel?
That's just nutz. Gun lust is 99% testosterone anyway, but this takes
the cake.
