MFFY of the decade?
So I had to run to the parts store for a new belt yesterday. Hopped on the
motorcycle, hit the highway. Discovered they'd just started road destruction again (yes, on a Sunday). So the speed limit drops from 65 to 55, and then 45. Remember these are construction zones with FINES DOUBLED. Shortly after we hit the 45MPH construction zone, there is a Right Lane Closed Ahead sign. So I and several other vehicles move over to the left. We're all slowing down, doing about 50ish now. Up ahead, I can see the orange cones closing off the right lane. I can also see a statie sitting in the breakdown lane, just before the right lane closes. Suddenly, from somewhere behind me I spot movement in the rear-view mirror. It's an old chevy station wagon, baby blue. Not sure what model, but it looks like early 80's vintage, possibly. It makes a sudden lane change to the RIGHT and speeds up to about 80 or so, passing everyone, doing at LEAST 30MPH over the speed limit in a construction zone, passing within 10 feet (maybe less) of a state patrol car parked in the construction zone. As he passed the statie, he didn't even slow down slightly. In fact, he was still accelerating! By the time he got to the front of the line, he was probably doing 90MPH in a 45MPH construction zone, and cut in front of the lead car so closely that the lead driver had to brake hard to avoid hitting him. He almost ran out of room, I thought he was going to flatten some cones. Oh, and of course the statie did nothing about it. Couldn't be bothered on his donut break, I guess. -Dave |

Just yesterday some tard was cutting people off doing 90+ entering a construction zone on the calumet. He was weaving in and out severely cutting people off. Tailgated me briefly. I took up a defensive stance before he could come around so he went and cut someone else off a few car lengths up instead. > Oh, and of course the statie did nothing about it. There's some outrage in my country at the moment, over the following series of incidents. (The outrage was somewhat muted, though, as our socialist government has done a good job of brainwashing the general population into conformance). 1) The Prime Minister's official motorcade drives for 96 minutes at an average speed of 130km/h, on poor quality rural roads, running other cars off the road in the process. This includes exceeding 120km/h through 50km/h zones, according to eyewitnesses. All this so that she can make it to a public appearance at a football fixture. The motorcade drivers were initially convicted, fined, and disqualified, but this was overturned on appeal. 2) A small town cop is called to a fatal accident late at night. He leaves the pub and arrives on the scene, and another officer breath-tests him and finds him to be 30% over the limit. He is charged, but the charges are dismissed by the judge at the first hearing. Further, the fatal accident was caused by a drunk driver who had been drinking with the cop moments earlier. 3) A woman suddenly goes into labour, so her husband's friend drives her to the hospital. The friend is pulled over and found to be over the limit. He receives a 6 month disqualification and $700 fine. It really is one law for the cops and one law for the rest of us. |

It's like Algore and others who decide chicago rush hour is a fine time for their visit and they will just shut down entire expressways for their use. The hell with the rest of us. |

Did the station wagon have wood panelling? That would have completed the picture. I bet he had NASCAR stickers on it too.
