Default 05' Quantities?

When is Ford going to really start shipping 05's? It seems like my local
dealers have 1 or 2 05's in stock.

The salesman I ordered mine from said he heard Ford wants to avoid
dealers having a line of them in the lot on display.

Some sort of corporate psy-ops, I guess. Salesguy didn't hear a reason,
but maybe a lineup like that makes people think they are not selling
and turns them off to it.

Someone, somewhere did a marketing study.

Sounds pretty stupid to me. If you want one you'll buy one, dealer
quantity should help sales ie different color and option levels on hand.

If they have a lot of them to sell people won't pay sticker plus like they
are now.

I agree, I think Ford would love to be selling tons of Mustangs. Look at
what happened with Chrysler and the PT Cruiser. They were very hot when they
came out, Chrysler couldn't build enough of them. Now Chrysler has to offer
huge incentives because that the novelty has worn off, and the PT Cruiser is
ordinary. I'm sure Ford, and dealers, would love to sell as many Mustangs as
they can while it's fresh. It's arguable, but novelty of a design is time
limited, not production limited. From stuff I've read, inventory on Mustangs
is very low, especially on GTs with the interior upgrade. I don't think Ford
is holding back from full Mustang production.

More like someone in marketing finally got a clue...
So far as I remember, 'stangs were always introduced in the spring... who'd
buy one in the fall just to stash it away for the winter? Sure you get the
bunch that just "have" to have the new model and pre-order it.. shwing...
only takes 6 weeks or so in the peak of the season...why the big hoopla?
