Speeding teen kills self and friend - Described as an " incredibly outgoing, beautiful person"
It does not matter if it was a sports car or a POS car. My child was killed in this car. I don't care who paid for it either or where they got the money. My child was killed in this car. Was he speeding , Skidding or jerking off either way my child is gone. So while all of you are sitting ther wondering what the answers are to all of those oh so important questions. Please remember these things, Two families have been torn apart through this very needless occurence and the parents may happen to stumble on what you are saying about their children. Unfortunaly my daughter was a passenger and I was as dumb as the day is long not knowing Subaru does make a very very fast car. It went fast enouth to break apart oto very many tiny pieces and take my childs life. A SPECIAL NOTE TO DEAR BENT: SHE IS NOT A "SELF PROCLAIMED PRINCESS" SHE is "MOTHER PROCLAIMED PRINCESS" I do agree with some of you but I don't agree with name calling and parents should teach the children the RESPONSIBILITY of driving however .........there definitly isn't a reset button or I would have hit it. I also thing that if there is an age limit on Vidieo games with this kind of driving there definitly should be an age limit on purchasing a car with suck power. What is skidding? theprincessesmother -- theprincessesmother ------------------------------------------------------------------------ View this thread: http://www.carstalk.net/viewtopic-364209.html Send from http://www.carstalk.net |

If he was speeding then it's his own damn fault and we should all be glad he killed himself and sorry he killed his friend. If your kid shot an innocent person and then shot himself, are we supposed to feel sorry "your child is gone"? Same thing. |

Skidding is a term for when a vehicle's line of travel begins to
deviate from the line of travel the driver is asking of the car via the steering wheel etc. The tires begin to slip. A skilled driver generally will be able to "get out" of the skid, or, when driving very quickly, put the car into a slight controlled "skid" to go around a corner faster. For someone to lose control of their car and hit a pole, you have to be doing something incorrectly. Speed is generally only one factor. If the driver handled the situation differently, either correcting the course of the car, slowing down, etc then it wouldn't have happened. Power in a car is only a number. A more powerful car typically is more responsive, and handles better in most situations. Since the car is more responsive, it is a much safer car to drive, and for an inexperienced driver, perhaps a better choice. Of course, an unskilled driver who pushes the car beyond it's limits will be going at a much higher rate of speed than he would if he pushed a lesser car too far - but that doesn't necessarily mean he would be better off. The CAR is not the problem here. The problem was the driver lost control, probably from doing an irresponsible manoever. |

Tell me, did your other daughter die in a Winnebago wreck when that moron fell asleep at the wheel while driving to a race? |

What a wonderful thing to say to the mother of someone killed in a car accident on Christmas Eve. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? |

I don't agree with that; some people are responsible and some are not regardless of age. What I want to know is how a kid could afford an STi, I barely could afford one myself (and it would really hurt if I bought one) and I'm 31 with what most would consider a good job. But that's mostly sour grapes on my part, 'cause I really would like to have one > What is skidding? > theprincessesmother this guy explains better than I could... http://www.miata.net/sport/Physics/02-Tires-Stuck.html (actually the whole series should be required reading for everyone with a car) nate -- replace "fly" with "com" to reply. http://home.comcast.net/~njnagel |

Have you also noticed the atrocious grammar along with the failure to follow simple usenet conventions that these trolls have in common? Take this "sentence" for instance: ->I do agree with some of you but I don't agree with name calling and ->parents should teach the children the RESPONSIBILITY of driving ... Is she saying that she doesn't agree that parents should teach their children any concept of responsibility with respect to driving?! Then again, what can we expect from someone who has never heard of the term "skidding?" |
