Wow, you sure have a lot of my favourites in this batch, Leroy. It's hard
to pick a favourite but that Hampshire is definitely among the top few, as are some of the early 50s police cars. max "Leroy Curtis" > wrote in message ... |

The static displays are fascinating, I agree, and this Hampshire must be incredibly rare now; very few would have been sold new, and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the only survivor. What I can't capture in the pictures, though, is the incredible atmosphere at this event; something like 130,000 people attended over the three days, the majority of who, including your intrepid photographer and his family, were dressed in period costume. There are acres of rare and priceless cars in the paddocks which you can stand next to and pore over, to the obvious delight of the enthusiastic participants and their crews, all of whom are willing to have a chat with you, while dotted around the pedestrian areas are some of the cars I've pictured, just parked, like the Aston DB5 or that delightful BNC, or indeed the Hampshire, as they would have been 50 or so years ago. Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying these, Max. I had three great days taking them. -- Regards Leroy Curtis Please replace "nospam" with "baram" in my address if you wish to reply by Email |
