auto tranny 93 civic cx
Hi all, I have a 93 civic cx hatch, 180000km, but evertime the car
decelerate from a speed above 40-60km/h, it will always jerk between the switch of gears from lets say 3ird to 2nd at about 30km/h. As if a guy was downshifting a manual tranny very harshly. There is no way to eliminate the problem while driving meaning that even if I decelerate very very slowly or almost slam the brakes, once it's at about 30km/h it will always jerk. there is not distinct sounds, no metal sounds whatsoever, just the engine reving faster. Also, if going lets say about 60km/h, than put car in neutral, wait a second or 2, and re-engage into the Drive position, it will jerk and put itself into 3ird and then into 4th which is overdrive i think. So why not go into 4th so that it's smoother, than downsift into 3ird should more power be needed. All cars I know will always keep the higher gear unless power is needed. So this happens at every stop, highway exits.... not so bad in summer but this winter, it almost blocked the wheels on very slippery roads. I tried al sorts of tranny oil additives. no change. Did a full tranny fluid + filter change, still no change. could it be a solenoid or something. I was told by a honda dealer in the area that i was better off to just leave it like that, not to spend any $$$ on it and basically let it live what it has left. (not too encouraging) Speeding up across the gears is all fine, yet the switching could be a bit smoother but still, I don't even notice. any ideas???? |
