Default Tip Chip - taking the plunge...

I am in the process of making up my mind to get a Tip-chip for my '03
Passat V6. (I'd kinda like to get out of warranty, but sometimes the
slow shifting really annoys me.) Problem is, I'd rather not give up my
car for the two or three days it takes to send in the ECU, have it
modded, and get it back. Sooo...

A) Does anyone know of place in the Long Island area that will do the
work locally? (I doubt it...)

B) Does anyone know where you can buy used or refurbished Tip ECUs? I
did some Google and Ebay searching but didn't find anything...

C) (just crazy talkin' now) Is a manual transmission swap possible, and
if so, any idea about cost?

Thanks,

I don't have one. I'm thinking about getting one.
