Clutch slipping on 93 Toyota 4-Runner, what am I looking at?
We own a well-maintained 4-Runner with 174k on the dial, up to this
point we've had the Toyota dealership maintain it, and although pricey, it's been extremely reliable. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that once in a while I would hit the gas and get no torque accompanied by over-revving. My guess is the original clutch has reached the end of the road. What will the approximate cost be to get it replaced, best case and worst case? Am I crazy to keep this truck going or is it reasonable to assume I could get another few years out of her? TIA |

It will cost between $1200 to $1800 and the loner you let it go the more it
will cost. It is a good idea to have the rear engine seal and the front and rear transmission seals replaced when it is out. The seals are less than $100 and well worth it would be a shame to put a new clutch in and have the rear seal or transmission seal leak and ruin the new clutch. -- Coasty Semper Paratus (Always Ready) "code4u" > wrote in message ups.com... | We own a well-maintained 4-Runner with 174k on the dial, up to this | point we've had the Toyota dealership maintain it, and although pricey, | it's been extremely reliable.
